Birthing Awareness 3-Step Rewind Practitioner Training
12th & 13th December 2019 – Newcastle-upon-Tyne
“Thank you Ruth. Your warm, welcoming and inspiring manner really open people up to learning. I gained so much from the training days. Thank you.”
Jay Kelly – Hypnotherapist & Doula
As a birth or post-natal professional you’ve probably worked with countless families who have described part of their peri-natal experience as ‘traumatic’ or ‘distressing’. In fact approximately one third of women and birth partners do – shocking and worrying statistics aren’t they?
Of course in an ideal world, this statistic would be drastically lower and even a rare occurrence….
..unfortunately, It’s not.
A very small percentage of people reach all the diagnostic criteria for PTSD and receive appropriate care.
But what about those people who don’t meet all the criteria, experience debilitating symptoms daily and fall through the net? As a birth professional you know the people I mean, some of them are or have been your clients. And it’s frustrating, isn’t it, to listen to a story which your client feels they just cannot move beyond and will forever be changed and affected by.
You’ve probably already heard about the 3-Step Rewind process which many midwives, doulas, antenatal educators, breastfeeding consultants etc… are becoming skilled in. And hearing the testimonies from these professionals as they help their clients to stimulate their own healing mechanisms after a ‘traumatic’ event – it is indeed heartwarming and inspirational to hear.
I am proud to be able to share my own experience of, and train others in this very simple to learn process during the 2 day training with Birthing Awareness.
- Rapidly building trust and rapport
- Effective debriefing and listening skills
- Working safely to avoid re-traumatising
- Using solution focused questions to promote healing
- Relaxation and guided visualisation

“Ruth was very warm and helpful not to mention a font of both knowledge and positivity. I would not hesitate to do more training with her.”
